چکیده

We present infrared spectra covering the wavelength ranges 3.1–5.0 μm and 5.8–11.6 μm for 9 young stars located in the Chamaeleon I dark cloud. The spectra were taken with the spectrophotometer of ISO (ISOPHOT-S). The spectra of three stars which illuminate reflection nebulae are dominated by the series of strong emission features generally ascribed to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Three or possibly four stars classified as T Tauri stars show the 10 μm silicate band in emission, whereas another object, T42, shows the silicate band in absorption and could be a T Tau star with a disk seen edge-on. The last source, Cha IRN, is a deeply embedded young stellar object. Its spectrum is characterized by deep absorption bands due to various interstellar ices, but shows a very weak silicate band only.

A new Classical T Tauri object at the sub-stellar boundary in Chamaeleon II

We have obtained lowand medium-resolution optical spectra of 20 candidate young low-mass stars and brown dwarfs in the nearby Chamaeleon II dark cloud, using the Magellan Baade telescope. We analyze these data in conjunction with near-infrared photometry from the 2-Micron All Sky Survey. We find that one target, [VCE2001] C41, exhibits broad Hα emission as well as a variety of forbidden emissio...

Disk Evolution in the Three Nearby Star-forming Regions of Taurus, Chamaeleon, and Ophiuchus

We analyze samples of Spitzer Infrared Spectrograph (IRS) spectra of T Tauri stars in the Ophiuchus, Taurus, and Chamaeleon I star-forming regions, whose median ages lie in the < 1 to 2 Myr range. The median mid-infrared spectra of objects in these three regions are similar in shape, suggesting, on average, similar disk structures. When normalized to the same stellar luminosity, the medians fol...

We present low-resolution mid–infrared spectra of nine classical T Tauri stars associated with the Chamaeleon I dark cloud. The data were obtained with the PHOT-S instrument on–board the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) in the two wavelength ranges 2.5–4.9 and 5.9–11.7 μm. All nine stars show evidence of silicate emission at 10 μm, which is the only prominent feature in the spectra. We discuss ...

Near-infrared Photometric Variability of Stars toward the Chamaeleon I Molecular Cloud

We present the results of a J,H, and Ks photometric monitoring campaign of a 0=72 6 area centered on the Chamaeleon I star-forming region. Data were obtained on 15 separate nights over a 4month time interval using the Two Micron All Sky Survey south telescope. Out of a total of 34,539 sources brighter than the photometric completeness limits (J = 16.0, H = 15.2, and Ks = 14.8), 95 exhibit near-...
